Let’s find out this with the help of following comparison.

Design

Xiaomi and Lenovo have come a long way in manufacturing smartphones. The duo has successfully delivered a number of handsets that are good on performance and boasts a premium built.

Same can be said for Xiaomi Mi Max and Lenovo Vibe X3. Both the phablets boasts a unibody metal design and look quite premium. However Mi Max loses the game when you put it next to Vibe X3. The former fails to offer something new in terms of design and looks like an extended version of the popular Redmi Note 3.

On the other hand, Lenovo Vibe X3 is better looking handset and also fits well in one hand as compared to Mi Max, which is too wide and bulky for one hand usage.

Hardware

Both the handsets go head to head in terms of hardware. While Lenovo is offering a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with six cores, paired up with 3GB of RAM to carry out multimedia tasks. Mi Max offers 4GB RAM and is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 CPU.

The Snapdragon 808 CPU may not be the latest from the house of Qualcomm, but it packs some amazing power underneath to handle everything without breaking a sweat. Coming on to Coming on to Mi Max, the phablet runs on Qualcomm’s latest offering- Snapdragon 652 in support of 4GB RAM. It is a capable processor and the 4GB RAM will make sure you multitask without experiencing a glitch.

Display

Xiaomi Mi Max is a device for you if you are in love with big screen devices. It sports a supersized 6.44-inch full HD IPS display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a decent pixel density of 342ppi.

While, the display on Mi Max is crisp and vivid, it is no match to the 1080pscreen on Vibe X3. The comparatively smaller 5.5-inch full HD display of the Vibe X3 churns out a pixel density of 403ppi and offers better overall viewing experience. So you get crisper text, sharper images and better movie experience.

Camera

The Mi Max packs a 16MP sensor with Phase Detection Auto Focus and an f/2.0 aperture. It is accompanied with a dual LED flash and has a 5MP shooter.

On the other hand, Lenovo Vibe X3 offers a 21MP PDAF rear camera with the same f/2.0 aperture. The front has an 8MP camera that delivers amazing selfies.

In terms of imaging, both the phablets are capable handsets.

Battery

When it comes to pure numbers, Xiaomi Mi Max takes the cake in terms of battery power. It has a large 4,850mAh battery unit that beats the Vibe X3’s 3,500mAh battery. But that doesn’t mean Lenovo Vibe X3 has a poor battery backup.  I have used Vibe X3 and it easily lasts for a day even with a heavy usage. I am yet to test the real-life battery backup of Mi MAx.

Connectivity

As far as connectivity goes, both the phablets offer everything you would expect from a today’s smartphone. Both have 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, NFC, microUSB port and USB-OTG.

Besides, both ship with a hybrid tray, so you can either expand the internal storage or use a second SIM card. However Mi Max has an edge here over the storage department. The 4GB RAM variant of the Mi Max has 128GB internal memory and can be expanded by up to 128GB via microSD card. On the other side, Vibe X3 has a 32GB inbuilt storage that can be further expanded by up to 128GB via microSD card.

Verdict

Mi Max is the biggest handset from Xiaomi that in some ways redefines the phablet category. It’s a good amalgamation of a smartphone and a tablet to offer an immersive multimedia experience. However it’s a tad too wide and is not built for one-hand operation.

On the other hand, Lenovo Vibe X3 looks premium and is more accessible in everyday usage due to its ergonomic design. If you are really fond of big screen devices and will not mind carrying a supersized phone, go for Mi Max, otherwise Lenovo Vibe X3 will serve most of the tasks without being a burden.
