Lenovo launched the mid-range Vibe S1 in November last year, but it didn’t receive much traction, for its not-so-tempting pricing. In a bid to improve the sales of the device, the Vibe S1 got a major price cut of Rs. 2000 and will now retail for Rs. 12,999. The phone was launched in India for Rs. 15,999, and received a price cut of Rs. 1000 soon after its launch.
Talking about the device, Lenovo smartphones feel very similar in terms of operating system, including the recently launched Lenovo Vibe K5 Plus. The specifications and features were quite good, considering its mid-range pricing, and they have seemedonedrive even better after the latest price cut of 2000 bucks.
It came with a modest 5-inch display with full HD resolution, which is the biggest plus point of the device. The colour reproduction of the screen is amazing, and it is sharp enough for your eyes to see every little detail on the screen. Despite sporting a MediaTek chipset, the performance is also very good, thanks to the 3 GB of RAM that handles all the heavy multi-tasking.
The USP of the Vibe S1 is its front facing selfie camera. Lenovo included a dual camera system on the front, which arguably produced one of the best selfies from any mid-range smartphone. It has a 13 MP rear camera, and an 8 MP front camera which supported by a 2 MP secondary camera. The dual-SIM smartphone has support for 4G connectivity on one of the SIM card slots, and the other one is a hybrid slot, which can be used for adding a microSD card.
While some of its features are just amazing, it has a few flaws too. The Vibe S1 has a 2500 mAh battery pack, but the actual backup from the device is pretty average. Moreover, the back of the device is glossy and hence very slippery. One will have to snap on a cover to keep the device from slipping every other minute. Also, some people might no find the hybrid SIM card slot system good, as most of us prefer to use two SIM cards along with a memory card inserted.
However, after Lenovo Vibe S1 got a major price cut, all these flaws can be overlooked, and you can grab your device for Rs. 12,999 from Amazon.in. Do notice that the new pricing is valid only on the blue variant and not on the white one.
